Amazing view of the Voges mountain range. Great spot to start visiting Alsace including Colmar, Riquewihr, Eguiesheim and Kayersberg.
Near the airfield. The Aero Club de Colmar offers great community. The Ibis styles hotel is right on the field and has a very solid standard with 24 hours service, snack bar and a good breakfast. Across the street from the airport, follow the parked trucks: there is a decent place to get burgers and sandwiches for lunch.
How to get around. Take the public bus into town. It leaves directly from the terminal, but you can also take an alternative from the Statue of Liberty nearby. There are bicycles for rent for 15 euros, but I did not test the service.

Long runway, asphalt, good approach. If you takeoff on RWY 19 there is really no good spot for an emergency landing. It’s either city or the vinyards, or a busy highway. Fuel is Avgas or Jet-A1
