How to lean an engine.LYCOMINGCONTINENTAL
When I flew in 1000 ft AGL during my PPL in LESB, leaning was never a topic. In most POHs you do the run up full rich, climb full rich, and don't really touch the mixture until you reach 3000 ft.
This lead regularly to fouled spark plugs on run-up which had to be burned off during run up.
Like many pilots, I was afraid to lean.
